Just a bit of humor here (I hope). I found this posting on a job site
for a "Technical Writer". Boy, the requirements for a technical
writer now sure are different from the ones that I'm used to! Would
adding office supply procurement to our skills make us more
marketable?

Technical Writer (temp)

PURPOSE OF POSITION :Contract position until June 2003, must be
accurate and thorough at xxxxxx.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Provide word processing, database data entry, and other clerical
support as needed including faxing, copying, shipping and filing.
* Maintain a safe, clean, and GMP compliant training center and work
area.
* Procure all company office supplies in a timely and cost-effective
manner.
* Assist Quality Engineering with clerical support such as copying
approved documents, maintaining reference books, filing, routing of
ECO's approval, and word processing.
* Complete projects and tasks in an aggressive manner consistent with
corporate objectives. Keep Director and managers informed of changes
in work schedule and/or workload.
* Regularly recommend and implement improvements in the department.
* Support company goals and objectives, policies and procedures, and
Good Manufacturing Practices. Ensure compliance with Quality System
Regulations, ISO 9001, EN 46001, and MDD requirements.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
* High School diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
* Minimum 2 years related experience
* Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, FileMaker Pro
* Self-management and responsibility
* Ability to anticipate activities without direction
