I don't know about you guys, but my resume includes descriptions of the projects I worked on... At least the knowledge domains - EDA, B2B, API, Pubs Software & SGML/XML (not just using - documenting) - then other projects that require specific types of knowledge such as web development and programming. Maybe the STC blurbs have the wrong focus, but I guess you could ask for resumes - or maybe should. If the resumes don't have that kind of information, then you have a serious gripe. You might go to the next STC meeting and say you want resumes from people with XYZ.

Mike, I am looking for people with writing skills. I was looking
specifically for technical writers with specific domain knowledge. This
project would not have time for people to learn what web services are or how
to systems manage a Linux server. The people would need to be able to hit
the ground running with this knowledge in hand before they start.
