As with any review or edit, you don't have to respond to every comment, but every comment can be a source of information. Clearly Ms. Langley's group thinks so, too.

There's value in being able to refer to "our award-winning product" or "our award-winning tutorial" depending on the context.

Sure, which is why you say things like "See what our customers have to say about our award-winning training!"

It's easy to see why the company's willing to invest in competitions in Ms. Langley's situation.

And it's great for her and her department, for all the reasons she mentioned.
