I'm with you, but I think we are losing, maybe lost. How can something be "larger than" and "different than"? Wouldn't it have to be "differenter than"? But you can't reduce language to logic. I tell them it's a matter of taste, that there's no disputing taste. I then quietly, without comment, make the change in the sure hope that good taste and common sense will convert the barbarians.
