Word 2000. Yes, you need the proper printer. We have a fancy networked
Xerox printer with multiple bins, and it works fine. Whenever 11 X 17 pages
are in a Word document I create a separate Section with the appropriate page
size, orientation, etc. for that Section, then revert to the basic 8.5 X 11
in the next Section. It's no big deal.

Of course, the result is a stack of printed papers of varying sizes. We
still have to Z-fold the 11 X 17 pages to fit in the 3-ring binders we use.
I'm not publishing dozens or hundreds of copies, though - typically it's
less than 10.

But yes - something as garden-variety as Word will do it. You gotta have
the right printer, though.
