Paul...I don't know if agree with most of what you said, but whether I do or
not isn't important...except:

Advanced technical knowledge is so important (and so hard to get), that in
general, while I would like to be paid for the time, it wouldn't stop me
from getting the training if I wasn't. The cost of my time is so
insignificant to the value I'm receiving, that in effect, I AM being paid in
increased wages I'll be able to collect on for years to come. Think of it as
insurance. Pay a little now for the greater benefit to be received later.

It was my choice to go to school for MCSE certification. I had to pay for
the course, and I'm not getting paid for the time. Isn't not getting paid
but not having to pay better than that?
