I haven't yet seen the topic of ownership brought up.

Hasn't the first client paid you for the document? Don't they own it completely, now? Wouldn't reusing your own words constitute plagiarism, even if you wrote the words first?

Reminds me of the Beatles' troubles, when their manager, Brian Epstein sold the rights to their music to some businessman. Today, after several purchases, I think Michael Jackson bought them as an investment.

Now if Paul or Ringo wants to perform one of their own songs, they must pay MJ for the rights.
