Diya asks:
############
When the
interviewer asks the candidate about his/her
weaknesses, what kind of responses does one reply
without the risk of sounding negative and not be
considered for the position.

If we try to make a positive look as a negative, would
that serve any purpose? Is there some approach to this
question and what are the options?
############

The classic stock answer I always heard was, "Sometimes I work too hard." or "I am too much of a perfectionist."

These are kind of tired and fake though. What you might consider doing is thinking of a weakness you do see in yourself and explain how you overcome it. Something like:

Sometimes I lose track of the situation in large projects and end up drifting along from one short term deadline to the next. Every now and then I really have to force myself to sit down, take stock, reorganize, and reprioritize.

Probably makes sense though not to make them too personal. "My neighbor really used to get on my nerves, but ever since I strangled him and buried him in my back yard, I am a lot more even-keeled."
