Actually we use Elvis.
Elvis clicks Start.
Elvis opens the dialog box.

OK, I admit it, I am having fun at someone elses expense.
Your coworker has a point if, and only if, the following is true. The trainers are going to be reading this to a room full of other trainers. Even if that is the case, I think you is still a better choice. I suppose you might still argue for the user if the tasks presented require two people.
1. You(the trainer)assign a login and password to the user.
2. The user enters the login and password.
3. The user clicks OK.
4. You direct the user to the System Status window.
Otherwise I assume this is a train the trainer type of exercizs. You is more direct and less ambiguous. No one is wondering who you are.
