In Linux/UNIX environments, they might be called
meta-keys. I've even seen them called "super-shift" keys,
because you can use the shift key to modify a character key,
or a function key (sometimes), but you can use a [Ctrl] or
[Alt] key to modify the shift-ed versions of those other
keys.
Pick something that makes sense and doesn't seem to
conflict with other choices in your docs, and ...
document it.
