John, from what I know of you and from your description of how you're
approaching this project, I think you're doing fine, and that your
employer is lucky to have somebody like you on the job. While your
standards are admirable, this is a finite task, with a manager who decides
whether standards and milestones are being met. And that manager has let
you know that your work is satisfactory.

The beauty of deadlines and bosses is that THEY tell us when we're done.
Otherwise we could go on improving our work forever.

Keep it up, but when you go home at night, relax and think impure thoughts
about non-tech-writing stuff. You've earned it.

who thinks impure thoughts even while tech writing.
