Re: synonym for "from scratch"
I want to tell users they can create something from a template or "from>
scratch." However, "from scratch" doesn't have the right euphony to me.
Any suggestions for an alternative to "from scratch?"
Hard to say without specifics, but perhaps you could use the
words "custom" or "customize":
You can create a document from a template or customize
a blank document.
You can create a report from a template or create a
custom report.
