The only useful TMP file, out of the 3 or 4 that Word routinely creates
when it opens a document, is one that records every single modification you
made. But that was Word 97, and MS has a tendency to replace potentially
useful features. I think I opened it as a text file (didn't you do that?
that's part of "research"....)

There's no way to restore a temporary file, as everyone else has said.
They're not really meant to exist, that's why they're called temporary.

<rant>BTW: when you ask a question, please end the sentence with a question
mark. </rant>
