So, what to do about this seminar? Some thoughts:

1) The original poster should use the skills in some real projects, take
a couple of classes on the subjects from folks who are established and
using these skills, and then should get back hands on to practice what
has been learned.

2) Outsource the topics to those who have been there.

3) Read a bunch of stuff and present what was absorbed, but be prepared
to dodge a lot of real-world questions.
