Ramesh asked:
Do young people use more of online documentation than older people?
---------------------------------

I don't know of any research on this.

Ramesh asked:
What are the considerations for developing online documentation
for users of any age?
---------------------------------

I would consider font sizes if your were documenting for the elderly. Much like the phones with bigger buttons, a larger font might be helpful. I could be wrong on that though.

Try doing a search online for "Human Factors" or "Human-Computer Interaction" That may give you some results that will address the issue
