Well, it turns out, not actually famous.
Got a call from a nice person at Pearson On-Line, which has something to do with the page-that-was-going-to-make-me-famous.
Turns out that this page was created by QA and was not intended to be accessible via the Internet. Bottom line is that (apparently) no editor actually determined that my writing is comparable to that of Doris Lessing ...
A request has been submitted to the Editorial Department in an effort to determine how this one particular page of mine found itself in this illustrious company.
Boy, and just when I had started dreaming of parlaying my fame into glory and hard cash. Guess I'd better start buying lottery tickets.
Thanks to all of you who helped me "reach out" to ABLongman... I promise not to forget you if I DO ever become famous.
I assume they discuss my writing technique in this on-line course. However, the link indicates that they are evaluating the page as a "student paper". If you read my page, it was obviously not written by a typical student. (In the paper, I make it clear that I was full-grown when I wrote it and there are indications all over my website that it's been a long while since I was a student.)
I wonder what they say about my writing in the Instructors' materials.
Anyone here have access to this?
Wouldn't you think it polite, if someone's going to cite an author as the epitome of something-or-other, that they'd get hold of the author and let them know what it is that they think the author is the epitome of???
More of my 15 minutes of fame, gone, gone. And I don't even know what I'm famous for, sigh.
