Sorry, folks, I couldn't resist! From earlier:

"2. What contract rate (hourly) would you charge a
student-intern or entry-level tech writer? What
minimal skill sets should the person have? "

Oh, I dunno--I guess I'd let a student-intern or
entry-level writer hang around for an extra ten bucks
an hour or so ...! Main skill set I'd look for would
be the talent to be seen occasionally and not much
heard when there's work to do!
