Exceedingly Dismal.
I live in the country near Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota and have
commuted to the TC for years.
I've been out of work one and a half years.
I'm a Senior Tech Writer with a BA in written communications and another in
history, and an AA in electro-mechanical drafting.
I am female and I am "older" and I'm experiencing the golden handcuffs.
I have no options at this point other than to transition into another
career. I've transitioned before and my background includes
electro-mechanical drafting, therapeutic massage and journalism.
I used that 1.5 years to complete my first fiction novel and I will be
looking for an agent/editor in the very near future.
I am currently looking into speech writing and anyone in the TC area is
welcome to offer suggestions, kick-a** speech writing coursework and
"support groups".
