I encourage you to forward or announce the following call for proposals to graduate students you think would be interested. Over the years the competition has brought some important and creative student research efforts to the attention of specialists in both industry and academe. Thanks! Brad.

___7th Annual ACM SIGDOC 2002 Graduate Student Competion___

An award for Best Student Submission to SIGDOC 2002 includes

- all expenses paid for registration, lodging, and conference proceedings
- an opportunity to publish in the Association for Computing Machinery SIGDOC's
"ACM Journal on Computer Documentation"

_Special Invitation_

Graduate students in fields related to technical communication, computing, documentation, web-based instructional design and evaluation, and interface design are invited to submit 750-1500 word proposals for papers for a special graduate student symposium at the SIGDOC 2002 conference being held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, from October 20-23, 2002 (see http://www.within-reason.com/sigdoc/ for more information).
