I am a rookie tech writer using Word to re-write a
user manual. The first draft of this manual has the
term node, for options that can be expanded or
minimized, in a GUI that has tree controls.

Is node the correct term to use? (the tree control in
this GUI looks similar to windows explorer. I hope
that makes it clearer).
