I'd beinterested in the feedback on this, as well, because I keep receiving
conflicting reports. Actually, I'd like to expand the list of "how do you
describe the activating action" elements, as well:

Object
------
GUI button (with mouse only)
GUI button (with touchscreen only)
GUI button (with keyboard only)
GUI textbox (to put the focus in it to enter text)
GUI checkbox
GUI option button
menu option
menu button
submenu options
(e.g. File > Stencils > Flowchart > Basic Flowchart Shapes)

Actions (are there others in common use?)
-------
click <object>
click on <object>
press <object>
select <object>
click in <object>
check <object>

When indicating a preference, can people explain why, as well, because I
can see a lot of the YMMV showing up there (for example "clicking" for a
GUI button for a non-mouse GUI will seem awkward, while "pressing" for a
mouse-driven interface will seem awkward)

Thanks!
Shauna
