I liked your questions too. I was about to ask a related ones, so I'll tag
them on here instead:
1. Is there a good source for data on typical load times for Help over a
modem? What shd modem users expect?
2. Do we assume any correlation between the user's level of expertise and
the speed of their Internet connection? (depends a lot on what the Help and
the related product r for, eh!?)
3. What compromises should the Help provider (eg Web app company) make to
accommodate modem users--should we eschew Help platforms that take too long
to load (as determined by the answer to 1)?
