Hi All,

John Cornelier wrote: "We've been using Dreamweaver to support our 1000+ page Help system for over a year, and I wouldn't go back to using any of the HAT tools for that
purpose."

I was hoping to get a little more information on Help systems done with DreamWeaver. We need to provide some on-line documentation for our software, so I've started looking into the different HATs. Since we already have DW (and budgets are tight!), my (virtual) ears perked up at John's post.

For those of you who have built these type of systems, how do you handle information/organization within the site? Do you use a straight HTML system instead of a winhelp/htmlhelp/javahelp one? Looking at DreamWeaver's help as an example, it looks like they've got the standard TOC/Index/Search functionality into a regular web page. Do you have to do that link-by-link or program it yourself with JavaScript or something? Also, they seem to have the F1 help all linked up to their interface. Is that tricky to do?

I'd appreciate any information you guys would be willing to share!

Thanks,

Eva

(BTW, I checked the archives before posting, but I only found another question, no answers.)
