It's funny (or weird) that even with all this grim talk, I'm not feeling all
that grim. Even though I was laid off from a contract about a week ago (two
big clients ready to sign pulled out, so with no clients, there's no need
for the software and therefore no need for docs) and the pickings are slim,
I don't know why--but I don't feel the need to go into panic mode. As I
said in an earlier post, I've been doing techwriting (full-time staff,
contracting, book writing) since 1984. I've seen booms, busts, and in
between. Maybe I'm a fool, Picaro in a picaresque folly. What are other
people 'feeling'--what's your gut reaction to what's going on? Are things
improving? Is it gonna get worse?
