I was once given an explanation of the Pythagorean Theorem and then, (I think it was an hour or two later), asked to explain it to somebody. During the same interview, I was given a section of Visual Basic source code, which the interviewers knew I did not know (at that time), and asked to interpret it to see how I approached the task. I was also grilled on grammar ("that" vs. "which") and HTML tags.
