Neelam:

In my experience, you can't apply the template to the files in a batch
since you have to apply the main body of text to the appropriate area
and tweak from there. You have to apply them to each file by attaching
them on an individual basis. Once the template has been applied, then
when you make changes to the template, you can update on a regular basis
with few problems.

One thing you didn't mention is if the 1000+ Files already had a
template applied to them. If they do, you have a totally different
situation 8-).
