Dan, good thing I have my editing hat on! I was owned by a pure-bred Siamese
cat that I thought I'd train to walk on a leash. From my experience there
are two steps missing from your procedure:

11. Grab bottle of peroxide
12. Scream in agony as you apply peroxide to scratches.
