This may be slightly off-topic, but it falls within the realm of my job
as a technical writer, so I hope someone can help me.

In addition to my duties as manager of our documentation department, I
now have been asked to step up our translation efforts. At the moment we
translate only into French (outsourced to a translation agency). I write
and speak French well enough to be able to review the translated text,
and spot errors and inconsistencies.

But now we're going to move to Spanish as well, and possibly other
languages. I think we need to hire someone in the new position of
"Translation Coordinator". I've heard the term mentioned at STC
conferences, and I'm doing some research separately from techwr-l, but I
haven't found too much on my searches so far.

I'm struggling to come up with a job description, educational
requirements, etc. Can anyone out there help? Thanks.
