Justin,

Regarding your question:

I was wondering if some more experienced people out there
could offer some advice, web pointers, books, etc. on managing the
translation process, including translation memories.

Here are some resources to consider:

* www.MultilingualWebmaster.com has extensive QA and resource libraries that deal with issues around translation, localization, and technology
* www.fxtrans.com/resources contains some pretty good -- if I may say so myself :-) -- white papers on how to select and manage a translation vendor
* www.multiligual.com maintains links to books and other resources
* http://www.suite101.com/welcome.cfm/localization is another good resource that features original content and links

Also, our newsletter (Multilingual Compliance News) recently featured several articles on Trados translation memory management; if you email me offline, I will gladly send the articles to you.

Regards,
Andres
