Jennifer...I was being only partialy flip.

Just as a style guide does not a techwriter make, having a template
doesn't mean anyone can make a quality newsletter out of the box.

In a past life, I did newsletters for two professional associations.
One was 16 pages every month and one was 32 pages every other month.
Both were done in Word Perfect 5.1

It was VERY hard work and took many hours. At first, I created fairly
primative issues. The lack of experience showed. However, by the time
I'd done about 6 or 8 of them, I was flown expenses paid from NJ to
San Antonio TX to address a conference of association newsletter
editors.

So, if I came across somewhat sarcastic, it was from the standpoint
of being unrealistic that a few well meaning replies are going to
take the place of the blood, sweat, and tears of those that do this
for a living. OTOH, if you just dig right in and make many false
starts before you can end up with one you are proud of, then go at it
and learn.
