Well, I never said "liberal" (I don't necessarily consider that word an
insult like most people in the post-Dukakis U.S. do), but now that you've
explained your statement, I'm going to actually agree with you a bit on the
heat/humidity issue (we were over 100 degrees F every day for at least 3
solid weeks recently).
Actually, I think most people here do consider that part a bit of suffering,
but one we're willing to endure (there's always January, right?). Most
people around here look at your snowstorms the same way you look at our
heat.
Like a few other people here, without the further explanation I thought you
were expressing a cultural bias and any offense was in that inference.

I was not going to justify the post below, but after being
called an Eastern Liberal Elitist, I guess I'll have to
explain what I mean by 'suffer.'
I consider climate a very important consideration for livability.
I personally suffer in ANY city that has high heat and humidity.
I don't want to have to live in an air conditioned environment all summer.
It has nothing to do with large cities or Southern cities.
I'm sorry if anyone was offended.
