On my first big manuals, a long time ago, we used to tell them to "click
left" and "click right", which is still how I think of it even now. I am
reminded now and then how non-standard the usage is from the looks I get if
I actually use the term out loud when trying to help someone.
I don't suppose that had anything to do with the demise of the company...
