Douglas S. Bailey writes...

"I don't know if this is off-topic, but I feel like this list is a good
pladce to ask this question: What's a typical salary in Michigan for a
technical writer with 10 years experience and a B.S. degree?"

I've worked as a Technical Writer in Michigan for about 12 years, and always
as a full-time employee for a company (sometimes the lone writer, sometimes
on a team). I have a Bachelor of Arts degree. My salary started out at
around $21,000/year (don't miss those days), topped out at $63,000, and now
it's a little below that (but the pay cut was worth it!). Mostly, I've
worked documenting software and related materials, and now I work for an
ergonomic consulting firm, doing manuals and a variety of other documents.
I think it really depends alot on the industry you're in...
