In theory, these tools improve readability (especially by ESL readers),
reduce translation costs, and improve consistency.

i'm curious: how will these reduce translation costs? generally translation is paid by the word, whether the language is simplified or not. while translators appreciate and prefer well-written texts, and the end product will certainly be superior if the source text is well written, it seems to me that your company's money would be best spent on good tech writers and good translators, rather than yet another software program and the associated training.

if you want readability for ESL readers, specify that when you order your translation; if you want to improve consistency, make sure your translator(s) use CAT tools.
