Well, Let me lob this element into the discussion: I am
documenting case-sensitive programming languages, and am faced
with the issue of capital I and lowercase L looking identical
in sans serif fonts.

If I use a sans serif for code samples, they look alike.

If I use serif, the digit 1 and the lowercase L can also look
at least very similar.

Can anyone suggest serif fonts that distinguish 1 from l
and sans serif fonts that distinguish I from l easily?
