Steve, I wouldn't be scared by the Amazon reviews of Carolyn Rude's book,
which my tech editing students have found to be well organized, strongly
edited, and filled with excellent resource material.

And you probably want to be super-careful about using the online reviews as
your basis for making your purchasing decision. The one negative review on
the Amazon site (out of only two reviews on the site tonight) makes bizarre
claims not borne out by what you'd see in the book itself. Amazon provides
no guarantee that anyone has edited the volunteer readers' reviews for
quality or fairness.

You might check out reviews in the tech communication journals and on Web
sites that tech communication professionals trust.
