Sam,

FYI: The 3rd edition of Carolyn Rude's _Technical
Editing_ will appear later this summer. The
copyediting / proofreading issues that affected the 2nd
edition have been corrected and/or eliminated for this
new edition.

As you know, typographical errors in books often resist
even the best efforts of writer and publisher to
isolate and correct, partly because of the large number
of steps involved in the proofreading process. I know
of *no* books that don't have at least a few such
errors, often introduced at the publisher's end.

Despite the occasional typo in the 2nd edition, Dr.
Rude's _Technical Editing_ remains, IMHO, the finest
book on the subject available today.

Disclaimer: I am a student of Dr. Rude, as you can see
from my signature below.
