A friend of mine and I would like to start our own technical writing and
editing business but have no idea how to go about getting started. We have
the technical writing experience, but have always worked for companies as
employees.

We have several clients we are talking to at the moment, but we don't even
have a name for our business or anything legal set up yet.

Has anybody set up their own business before? Where do we get started?
