What I learned just recently is that there is a good correlation between musical ability and a facility for learning foreign languages.

Myself, I can't carry a tune in a bucket, and although I am fairly facile in English, I always found learning foreign languages a challenge. But I suppose that a lot of tech writers must fall in the contrapositive camp.
