I'd aim at clean HTML, viewable with any browser:
http://www.anybrowser.org/campaign/

Try running it through the World Wide Web Consortium's HTML Tidy
program:

http://www.w3.org/People/Raggett/tidy/

They are the standards body for the web; their stuff usually works
quite well.

Or you could bring it up in a text editor (wordpad?), have a look
at the tags, remove MS-crud(TM). Start by removing all font tags:

From
http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/

" Guidelines for authoring
"
" ...
"
" 2.FONT tag considered harmful! Many filters from word-processing
" packages, and also some HTML authoring tools, generate HTML code
" which is completely contrary to the design goals of the language. ...

Word-generated HTML files I've looked at have lots of font tags. I
presume the same defect might be present in other MS products.
