RE: "install" as a noun?

In writing for the computer industry, I come across that a lot. It actually
borders on jargon but I have seen it accepted for publication in some Service
Manuals and Service-oriented papers. I haven't seen it in regular manuals
sent to the general audience, not to say it is not there.
