I have worked for one company that blocked access to hotmail.com,
netaddress.com, and other free e-mail sites. A number of companies block
access to streaming media (e.g., realplayer).

Althought the use of the internet may seem free, it does mean that your
company has to have enough bandwidth to support all use of the net that they
permit.
