Re: burnout

I've had some job burnout sometimes, too, mainly when there is no major 
project and I have to pretend to be busy.  That's when it hurts to look 
outside and know what a nice day it is, or ponder how much housekeeping I 
could accomplish instead of sitting in a cube and doing next to nothing.  If 
there is something to do, and it isn't some silly or futile task, I can take 
reasonable pleasure in tech writing and have some professional pride.

To me, it seems like taking a vacation from a bad job is like getting drunk 
to drown your sorrows; to paraphrase Churchill, next week you'll be back in 
the cube and the job will still be ugly.
