Can you imagine trying to catalog a very, very complicated folio without
AACR2R? I think it should be made clear to everyone that the nature of
library science is such that you need to show you can look things up. I had
very few exams in my library science program - mostly extremely large and
complicated projects.

What does this have to do with tech writing? Well, the thing is, open book
does not mean no knowledge, it means that you know how to use the resources
you have to do your job. Something all of us are faced with from time to
time.
