Style Guides
- Read Me First A Style Guide for the Computer Industry -- Sun Technical
Publications
- MS Manual of Style for Technical Publications
- The AP Style Guide is on my "to buy" list (for press releases mainly)

I prefer the Sun guide to MS, but I'm sure that's my (irrational?) dislike
of MS.

Grammar
- The Chicago Manual of Style
- The New York Public Library Writer's Guide to Style and Usage
- Editing for Writers (by Rew)

I think the NY Publick book is very similar to Chicago, and I find the NY
book much easier to read and find things in. It's what my first mentor used.

Other
- a good dictionary
- a good thesaurus
- How to Boss Your Fonts Around (by Williams) if you want to learn more
about fonts
- The Non-designer's Scan and Print book (by Williams) if you will be doing
any scanning
