Kimberly,

My quest in life is to come up with a method to organize all my screen
shots...

Below is the method I have successfully used.

1. All image files are saved in one folder per manual (or chapter or
topic) depending on the size of the project.

2. Each image is saved with a "code_chapter_subchapter_comments.gif
- Codes are SS=screen shots,G=graph, D=diagram, etc...
- Chaper is the chapter number or name (Note - I usually go a step
further an assign codes to my chaper name. For example Change Control
would be CC).
- Subchapter is usually section
For example: SS_ChangeControl_3_.gif or
SS_CC_3_login.gif

3. Then in the document where the image is inserted I type in hidden
text the name of the corresponding image. That way, if I need to edit
it, I know which image to open without hunting through them all.

Great questions - I look forward to reading other people's solutions.

Shannon
