RE: Plagiarism vs Fixed Botches

Ladies and Gentlemen:

Tony's point about the "98%" jobs DID have to do with the plagiarism question.
(Please jump on me if I misinterpret you, Tony)

His point was that if I fix what you left "98%" done and have to work my butt
off because of the mess you made, AND that piece goes into my portfolio, YOU
cannot complain that I have plagiarized your work because little (if any) of
your work remains. The title may be the same, the thing being documented may be
the same, but the actual documentation is not.

(Not that anyone on this list has ever left something in haste and/or botched a
job--just for illustrative purposes, you understand.)

So it's possible for a manager who knows TW 1 and who is interviewing TW2 could
see a manual or other deliverable in portfolio or on resume that looks like a
plagiarized claim.

That's where we have the opportunity to get over our discomfort with
confrontation and ASK the TW being interviewed about the apparent discrepancy.
The answer just might be that the original deliverable was re-written.
