For those of you struggling to keep a perfect-bound
book open while you type: You need a book weight! A
friend gave me one for Christmas a few years ago. It is
a double leather band about 2 in. across and about 8 in. long, and
it has a lead weight at each end. After I started using it,
I wondered how I ever lived without it!
Students: It is *very* handy for typing notes out of a text.
I've seen them in catalogs, but I can't remember which ones
right now.
