End with a blessing.
"May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the crotch of the person that
dares disagree with you."
And you can seal that solemnly with:
- Amen
- <your name> has spoken
- so mote it be
-------------
More seriously, the salutation and sign off (or whatever that is called) are
the opening and closing tags of your mail. <dear> </sincerely>. They convey
about as much as an incidental "howdy" in a busy office corridor.
The tone of the main message determines the temperature of the regards
expressed at the end. There is rarely a perfect word to use, but there are
words that compliment the message, or provide an appropriate conclusion.
Hugs and kisses
:-)
