You can actually put the term and definition in a glossary marker and generate an index of glossary markers at the end. (You could also generate a list of glossary markers, but I seem to recall that you can't then add any inline character formatting.) The drawback is that you'd have to either stick to one-paragraph definitions or add special characters to your marker content to insert paragraph breaks.
